Matt Turned 30 and All I Got Was This Lousy Broken Arm

Last night, a bunch of us met up at Casa to celebrate Matt's 30th birthday. He turned 30 on 3/30, and he was born at 3:30! Isn't that crazy? Anyway the night got off to a good start.

Happy Birthday, Matt!

Aaron Burk. Always a party waiting to happen!

I met this guy named Dave. He was pretty cool! We had some good conversation.

This random girl thought I was so good-looking that she asked me to pose with her for a picture on her cameraphone. She wanted to send all her friends a photo of her with an incredibly handsome man.

Ah, my favorite place to be. In the arms of a beautiful woman.

Me with Maia and Chris! Good people.

And here's where the night took a drastic turn for the worse. I was just arm wrestling with Matt, as usual...

... and my ARM BROKE!! I won, of course, but then all of a sudden CRACK. It broke in two places!!!!

I went to the Emergency Room, and the doctor said it was the weirdest thing he'd ever seen. He said he was completely baffled as to how an arm as strong as mine could just break like that! Luckily, he said it was a clean break and should heal in no time.

I can't wait for it to heal up so I can get back to arm wrestling and working out. I'm definitely not going to let this injury hold me back!

Pizza and Kung Fu

Tonight I got together with Brad for some pizza and kung fu. Carl was supposed to join us, but ended up going out on a date at the last minute. It's too bad Carl had to miss The Intercepting Fist, it's one of his favorites. But we've all seen it plenty of times. And hey! More pizza for Brad and me! Man, Bruce Lee is bad ASS.

Raquetball

This was a pretty good weekend. It was really low-key. I mostly just relaxed at home, but I did manage to make it to the gym a few times. Played several games of raquetball with Summer. I let her win once or twice, but most of the times I creamed her!

Here I am in front of the gym:

Living it up at the Gator!

Last night I went to Rose and Karen's birthday party at the Blue Gator. It was wild! Everyone was eating desserts and drinking martinis. I was basically surrounded by hot women. It was awesome.

I had some creme brulee...

..AND some chocolate cake. And too many martinis. Guess I'll be doing some extra situps today!

I decided to pick up the entire bar tab for the night.

I had a good time talking with Matt, but by the end of the night he was sort of getting in my face!

Oops! What's this great looking picture of me from behind doing in here?

Eventually, it was time to switch over to beer. Joey hooked me up with a Newcastle.

They had these light-up ice cubes at the bar. They were sweet. Man, I love Spring Break!

Happy birthday, Rose and Karen!

Spinach Artichoke Dip

I couldn't stop thinking about the Spinach Artichoke Dip that I had at Missy's party last night, so I emailed her for the recipe. Thank god it wasn't a family secret! Here it is. I suggest you make yourself some.

Spinach Artichoke Dip

1 8 oz package cream cheese, room temp
1/4 c shredded romano cheese
1/4 c shredded parmesan
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 c mayonnaise

mix together well

1 can artichoke hearts, chopped and squeezed to rid excess water
1/2 package of fresh spinach, steamed, chopped and squeezed
2 cloves garlic finely chopped
3 scallions, chopped

mix into cheese mixture

last step, fold in 1 cup of shredded mozzarella

bake at 350 degrees for 20-35 minutes, until bubbly and a little brown on edges.

And here is a great picture of me enjoying Missy's artichoke dip!

Happy Green Beer Day!

I just got home from a killer Saint Patrick's Day party. I'm a little drunk... I just can't resist that green beer! It was a good time. I talked politics with Kaleb and Tracy, did some dancing, ate a bunch of green cake. At the end of the night, the party got a little crazy and we all piled onto the couch for some picture taking! Alright, I gotta get to bed.

Spring Fever

Today there was a hint of spring in the air. I took advantage of that and decided to take my workout outdoors! I headed to Strouds Run for a hike. It was a little chilly in the woods, but I worked up a good sweat on those trails. I ran into my buddy Kaleb, who was out doing some mountain biking.

I hadn't seen him ages, so we hung out for awhile and caught up. His dog Woody is so awesome. He almost makes me think I might need a dog of my own...

More like Neverlast!

So, last night I was doing some crunches on my exercise ball, like I normally do, and I heard this hissing sound. Before I could even begin to wonder where it was coming from, BOOM! I was on the floor! My exercise ball exploded! Not cool.
